00 PM. Thea died on June 7, 2023 and leaves behind her dear and loving husband Blaine Porter and beloved daughter Maria K. Kantartzis, along with countless friends. Additionally, she is survived by her dear and special friend Deb White.
Thea was a founding member of the Taylor County Arts Council. Founding member in reality is an understatement. In all fairness TCAC would not exist without her tireless dedication and determination to make the organization what it is today. Moreover, not only was she dedicated to TCAC but numerous other Grafton civic groups. She lead the creation of Castle Creek Playground and could be found doing good for the betterment of our community always.
Thea had a most joyous laugh and kindness of spirit that was unsurpassed. An avid Gardner who shared her talent with all who shared her passion for hands in the dirt labor. Her love for the unusual be it flowers, friends, art or those in need of encouraging words will be her lasting legacy.
Bring your special story and memory of Thea. Share her light and kindness to a beleaguered world. In so doing her life and legacy will continue to be a shining example of a life well lived and finally, in the words of some unknown philosopher consider this: “Everything most lovely in life, from love to goodness and to joy comes as a gift. It is all mercy”. Thea was a gift most lovely, a joy in our hearts, and she loved mercifully.
